SHS Camp:

“People will walk in and walk out of your life, but the one whose footstep made a long lasting impression is the one you should never allow to walk out.”

Michael Bassey Johnson

The most memorable experience I had in the recently concluded SHS Summit 2019 is the teachings of the speakers and the worship night. They taught us about leadership & the important choices in life. In the story of Jonah, God enabled Jonah to become a leader so that he can save the people of Nineveh from their demise. The important choices in our life will often be the hardest. To get the things we want, we must make sacrifices to achieve our goal. The worship night really took me by surprise because when it started it was powerful. When the pastor started to preach, many were listening when we were worshiping we felt the presence of God.

In the camp I learned that God’s plan is supreme and even thought we cannot understand his plan we can be sure that it is for our best interest. After all a father would want the best for his children to the point in where he would discipline them so that they would become better in the future. So I will put my trust in the Lord.

My life verse would be Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, “two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up”. Because when I was in the camp, I realize the comradery of my fellow camp mates. When it was time for annual outdoor games we help each other out, filling the gaps of our weaknesses to survive the game.
