Social Realities: Behavior and Phenomenon

There are times that we find ourselves in a situation unlike other situations, we personally encounter different ways of doing things, behaving and making sense of events. Observing them, we cannot help but ask: Why do people do such things? What makes it normal and acceptable to some people in some peoples and unacceptable to others in other places?

These questions are triggered by our habit of looking at another people’s world’s as we look at our own. In order to explore the issue further, consider the following situations in the table below. Identify the behavior and phenomena from below.

5.) If grades were to be were to be the basis of Rusty’s standing in the economics class, her would surely fail the course. However, he was given a passing grade by his economics teacher who happened to be a childhood friend of his mother.PADRINO

Meanings

1.) Selfieing – people who like to take pictures of themselves. Women going to the bathroom and take selfies after removing their internal waste.

2.) Political dynasty – families supporting each other to stay longer in politics. The political families in the Philippines supporting each other every election to stay in power longer in the government.

3.) Transnational families– live most of the time separated from each other, yet hold together by unity, namely “familyhood”. OFWs around the world go back to the Philippines in the holidays to spend time with their family.

4.)Youth volunteerism- juveniles volunteer to contribute something good in the community. During the post-Yolanda, many young people volunteered to help the victims.

5.) Video gaming- people playing games using the tv while using a platform that will make a game playable. I am using the ps4 to play Witcher 3.
